...NICOLAS GHESQUIERE TAKES THE REIGNS AT LV.

No surprises there then.

Louis Vuitton have finally announced Nicolas Ghesquiere, the genius that catapulted Balenciaga from a failing, behind-the-times brand into one of the most sought after, modern thinking and fashion forward brands in the world, as their new artistic director this evening.

Since he parted ways with Balenciaga last year after his 15 year tenure at the design house, there has been more than a little speculation as to where his talents would be brought to next.

Then, after the presentation of his breathtaking SS14 show and what would be his last at LV, Marc Jacobs' departure from the brand was announced and naturally, rumours started to fly that Nicolas Ghesquiere would be his replacement.

Marc Jacobs transformed Louis Vuitton in the time that he spent at the helm of the brand, with high profile collaborations, spectacular shows and his fair share of shock provoking movements in every aspect of his artistic direction.

Ghesquiere definitely has some big boots to fill but I for one can not wait to see what he offers up next Spring.

Thoughts?
